​We welcome the recent UK Government statement that continues the gradual easing of the current lockdown restrictions and announced that caravan and camping sites can re-open from Saturday 4th July.

We are delighted that the day is approaching when we can welcome our guests back to Cotswold View where we believe that we are well-placed to offer you a safe, enjoyable UK outdoor holiday and provide you with a much-needed break away from home. 

Demand for a UK camping break is increasing so we ask that you book in advance to guarantee your pitch as we will not be taking “off the road” arrivals that have not pre-booked in order to facilitate contactless check in.

Bookings made whilst we are still closed are fully flexible.

We have had a team of people working hard on how we can safely re-open and we cannot wait to welcome you back.

You will find that Cotswold View will have adapted to the new social distancing and safety requirements set out by the UK government. Our priority is first and foremost the health and safety of our staff, members, guests and the local communities.

Welcome Back

We have changed some of our procedures at Cotswold View to ensure we keep guests and staff safe and well whilst staying with us.

Whilst there are some new processes and procedures that may be unfamiliar and some elements may take slightly longer than usual due to these additional measures, rest assured our usual high standards of friendliness and cleanliness will ensure you continue to enjoy the great outdoors with us.

We are only allowing individual bookings so we can prevent large groups assembling in line with current government guidelines. Please remember that outside, the guidance remains that people from several households can meet in groups of up to six or two households of any size can meet. We ask that large groups do not assemble. Please respect this limitation on social gatherings whilst you are with us help keep everybody safe.


Going forward all pitches must be booked individually, maximum number of 6 people per pitch. You can request to be next to one other unit in the comments box when booking online and we will try our upmost to accommodate this. We very much regret to have to make this decision, we would love to accommodate all groups on our site though based on government guidelines this procedure has had to be put in place to ensure a safe environment for both our staff, visitors and local community.

We regret that guests will not be able to have any day visitors to their pitches.

This will help us limit the number of people on site.

Prior to Arrival

All bookings must be pre-paid, in full, prior to arrival to facilitate contactless check-in on arrival.

In addition, please confirm we have your correct email address so that we can send you the arrival procedure, you will see this information on the booking summary we have sent you. If it is incorrect or not shown you can either update this online or you can send us an email at and we will update your details.

An email will be sent to the booking contact confirming your arrival procedure 48-72hrs prior to arrival.

This is also sent the morning of your arrival.

It is essential you read this email prior to arriving as it informs you of your allocated pitch number along with access details to the site.

Arriving on Site

For those who have received an email confirming your arrival procedure please follow the instructions for contactless check-in and proceed to your pitch.

If for any reason you do not have an email confirming your arrival procedure you will have to pull over outside reception and remain in your car and call the phone number clearly displayed for assistance. If you still have an outstanding balance on arrival a member of the site team will take payment (via the phone) and provide you with the details you need. Please do not plan to pay in cash.

There will be a site map outside reception.

Pitching up

Most of our pitches are at least 6m apart laterally from the centre, so we already have good social distancing in place. We have, however, also removed certain pitches from use to assist with these measures.

Please ensure you position your unit centrally on your pitch.

Using the toilet/shower blocks

As you would expect we have increased the rigour and frequency of cleaning and sanitising and enhanced the regularity of disinfecting surfaces. We are planning 2 deep cleans and 3 supplementary cleans a day and guidance on how many people the block can accommodate at one time. Please look for signs outside the toilet and shower blocks for cleaning times.

If the facility has reached its capacity level, there will be a need to queue externally. Please observe the floor markings, which will indicate the appropriate social distancing requirements. Do not enter any narrow area unless it is clear you can pass to your destination. Please bear in mind that queuing times may be a little longer; we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Campers will also be able to pitch their own toilet tent on their allocated pitch.

Please note that these must be emptied at the chemical disposal points outside each toilet block.


Using other communal facilities

Service points, waste disposal, outdoor washing up, play areas and forest trail gym equipment will be open – please follow hand washing guidance; whilst we will have this available on site, we would ask guests to also bring with them their own supplies of soap and hand sanitiser. Should a facility be occupied or in use, there will be the need to queue and respect social distancing requirements.

We ask that any rubbish is bagged and tied and deposited in one of the bins at the service points or if you wish to recycle please take those items to the recycling area and deposit in the appropriate bins.

Please do not leave anything lying about that cannot be discarded in this way.

Our tennis court and our outdoor table tennis will be open between 9am to 8pm, free of charge, however, you will need to bring your own racquets, bats and balls. We will operate a first come, first served basis however you will need to vacate the court on the hour.

Our shop will be stocked and open periodically during the day to purchase provisions however please note that cash will not be accepted. Contactless card payments are preferred. Gas will also be on sale however you will be asked to handle the bottles.

The Old Shed (café) will be open for business although seating will only be provided outside.

Takeaway food and drink will be available.

Our Disc Golf course will be open and discs will be available to rent/purchase from reception during opening hours.

Unfortunately, our laundry room, skittle alley and games room will remain closed.

What if I am unwell on site?

We really hope this does not happen but if you are staying on-site and feel unwell please follow the guidance below.

  • Go online to NHS 111.

  • Call the site phone number provided at check in to let the site manager know.

Checking out

All pitches and pods are to be vacated by midday. If you wish to stay on longer please call the site number provided before 10am on the day of departure and we will try to accommodate your request.

Please leave any keys in the box marked ‘KEYS’ near Reception on your way out.

We will retrieve the keys and ensure they are cleaned and sanitised appropriately for our next guest.

Doing your bit on site to help

We are all in this together and by respecting each other and the guidance provided by the Government we can all stay safe and well.

Where possible, use your own onboard facilities to help manage the demand for the toilet blocks.

Please be considerate of other guests' needs to access shared facilities by minimising your dwell time.

Keep to footpaths where possible and avoid shortcutting across pitches.

Always follow the current government guidance on-site and in the local area.

Respect social distancing, staying 2 metres apart wherever feasible and mitigating the risks at 1 metre where not.

Outside, the guidance remains that people from several households can meet in groups of up to six or two households can meet, regardless of size.

Limit social gatherings to a maximum of 6 people outside.

Keep washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds.

I have a Seasonal Booking – what’s next?

If you have a Seasonal Booking we will be open on Saturday 4th July and we look forward to welcoming you.

We will be in contact with you again shortly with your arrival procedure.

I had a booking in April, May or June – where are we now? 

By now you should have been contacted by us to re-arrange your booking for later in the year or a full re-fund. We thank all those who have opted to defer their booking until a later date. Your continued support is much appreciated in these challenging times. For those of you who requested a refund we can confirm that the majority of these have been actioned. Please remember to check your credit card statements as your refund will show there and not in your bank statements. In a few cases where a credit card has expired, we will be contacting you to obtain the necessary details from you to complete the refund process. If you have not been contacted it is possible that we do not have the correct contact details for you. If you think this is the case, please contact us by email so we can re-establish contact with you.

If I have a booking from 4th July onwards?

All bookings from 4th July onwards can be amended to any available date in 2020, without incurring a charge and there is no limit to how many times you can change it. Cancelled bookings will be subject to our standard cancellation policy which was sent with your confirmation or can be found here:


Can I make a booking?

Our online booking system is now open for new bookings for arrivals from 4th July for the remainder of the 2020 season and bookings for the 2021 season. You will be able to move your booking to any available date in 2020, if for some reason we are forced to close again, without incurring a charge and there is no limit to how many times you can change it.
